Ronald Torreyes, professional Major League Baseball infielder (currently playing for the New York Yankees), is one of the smallest guys on the field at just under 5'8" and roughly 150 lbs.
Hailing from Venezuela and only 26 years old, he's effective on the field and popular in the dugout. Torreyes has been productive in his 2+ years with the Yankees, and he has a bright future in professional baseball.
Ronald "Toe" Torreyes says that he's proud to be the "small" guy on a team of tall players.
"I'm the shortest one, but it's exciting be able to say, 'Yes, it can be done!'"
Like most men of modest height, Torreyes often finds shopping at most stores to be a frustrating experience because even smaller sizes are too big and long.
"At other stores, the clothing is all too big. I always look for size S, but they're still too big. It's very uncomfortable to wear a shirt, sweater or jacket that's too large."
That's why he's a big fan of Peter Manning NYC. Whether he's dressing up for a press conference or going casual on the road, he loves wearing PMNYC clothes because they fit well and flatter his build.
Ronald tends to keep things simple. He likes clothes that fit well in neutral colors (think monochromatic hues and earth tones).
He wears light and dark color combinations with confidence. A white t-shirt or crewneck sweater is often the foundation of his more casual outfits.
Ronald also looks great in black. He gets a lot of wear out of his black leather jacket and black skinny jeans.
We're thrilled that Ronald loves our clothes, and we're excited to have him as a PMNYC parter.
We recently got a chance to sit down with Ronald and ask him about growing up in Venezuela, training with his father and, of course, playing professional baseball as a 'not-so-tall' guy.
