In Good Company: Actor James McAvoy

In this edition of In Good Company, where we highlight 'not-so-tall' guys doing great things in life, we are featuring James McAvoy, best known for playing a young Professor Xavier in the X-Men movies. He has starred opposite Angelina Jolie in the thriller "Wanted," and is now making headlines for playing nine roles (as a man with dissociative identity disorder) in the new M. Night Shyamalan film "Split."

The 37-year-old Scottish actor stands 5'7" and had a steady television career before landing movie roles from Narnia series installment "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," to "Atonement," the British war drama co-starring Keira Knightley.

Acting talent aside, McAvoy has also stood out for his personal and sartorial style, often highlighted by Esquire magazine, as well as British GQ, which included him as one of their Men of the Year in 2007.

McAvoy apparently has a selfless side as well, having recently been noted for donating $62,000 (50,000 GBP) to help a young girl, Kelly Turner, battle a rare form of cancer. The actor donated the money not long after meeting with Turner in the hospital.

With James McAvoy, we are truly in good company.
